2 August 2021
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I am so very grateful to you and our Pacific Paradise State School community for the support you always show at times of crisis or difficulty. Today, because of your commitment to keeping us all safe, and heeding the advice from Queensland Health, we had approximately 70 students at school.
As you are probably aware, the lockdown has been extended until Sunday 8 August – I know this creates difficulty for many families…as it does for mine too.
Advice from the Department of Education is that staff not required to supervise students should be rostered to work from home. This advice is in response to the very real need to keep our staff and their families as safe as possible, while supporting the essential workers in our community. We have developed a roster for our staff based on the fantastic support we have received from you today.
Today the staff have developed on-line learning tasks for English and mathematics. Every class teacher has contacted their students and parents, ready for a successful and positive re-start to learning from home. Teachers are contactable through the various electronic media available…email, Dojo and for the Preps SeeSaw, should you need help.
A couple of ‘sad’ outcomes of the lockdown is that we have had to postpone the Year 3 camp and the school’s Colour Explosion scheduled for Friday! We are identifying alternative ‘COVID free’ (fingers crossed!) dates which we will share with you as soon as we can.
Please stay safe, stay home and keep smiling.
Proudly, Principal, Pacific Paradise State School
