The Arts/Music News

The Performing Arts Program is booming this year at Pacific Paradise.  The instrumental music strings program has increased in numbers to 26 students.  The concert band program has a strong number of 45 students.   Early morning rehearsals and lessons during the day take place each week.  Performances have already been heard by both the strings and band on parade and Anzac Day.  One of the major performances this term will be FANFARE (the biennial state wide festival for bands and orchestras in Qld state schools).  This performance will showcase the wonderful music making that occurs in Pacific Paradise and in other ensembles across the state.

The Instrumental Music Program continues to strive for excellence with their performances and overall presentation of the ensembles.  This year both ensembles have introduced new music folders which keeps the music safe and adds to the overall look.  The final introduction of music uniforms to the strings players this year will continue to promote that Pacific Paradise State School has a wonderful Instrumental Music Program and is committed to cultural growth of both the school and its students.

All the children from Prep to Year 6 are working hard in their weekly music classes learning new music, dance and drama concepts. Our Year 5 and 6 students enjoy their lunchtime practice on different musical instruments including the keyboards, guitars and ukuleles.

The school also encourages students to join the dance and choir groups and our rock bands.

We are also known for our amazing musicals.  Past productions include: Gladiators, Superkids, Little Stars and Alice@Wonderland.

Our Year 6 students also have a performance they present at their Graduation every year.
