Rule of the Week

16/07/2015
At Pacific Paradise we have clear processes which students are reminded to follow if they have problems or concerns in the classroom and in the playground.
In situations where students feel they are being bullied, teased, harassed or treated unfairly by others we en-courage them to follow the High 5 steps : Ignore it- Move away- Ask them to stop- Stare and say it loudly and firmly- and finally, if it doesn’t stop, -Tell a teacher. At the final stage, a teacher will step in and assist students to deal with the problem and reach a resolution. If we don’t know about it, we can’t do anything to help. These steps work most of the time and importantly, they encourage students to develop skills of self-management and assertiveness.
