Operation Jump Street

16/05/2014

Nambour Road Policing Unit is once again conducting Operation Jump Street after receiving an increase of traffic complaints during peak times.
Plain clothes Police Officers will be performing covert patrols of our car park and the streets surrounding our school.

The police will be using personal covert video surveillance in an effort to aid police in evidence gathering for court purposes.  This eliminates the need for Police to interview drivers when breaches of the road rules are detected.  Offenders will receive a fine in the mail.  There will be zero tolerance on any breaches. Offenders can expect action to be taken against them.  They will be targeting:-
Illegal parking
Double Parking
Parking on Footpaths
Parking in Bus Zones
Seatbelt offences (Driver and passengers including children)
Crossing Double/ Single continuous dividing lines
Any other breaches of the road rules.

I am disgusted that the last time the Jump Start Police visited our school, 31 people received fines in the mail.  Apart from these people endangering the lives our most precious group (our children), this reflects badly on our whole school community.  Be warned!  Park in bus zones at any time; park on the grass beside the gate; or double park.  Expect an expensive photograph of your vehicle to be taken and a fine in the mail.
